After the snow storm

Christmas Cactus
My Christmas Cactus appears to have "timeframe" issues as it flowered in November of last year and again in February of this year ... or perhaps it is simply responding to the ups and down (hots and colds) of Colorado weather.

And yes, I should have dusted this poor cactus before I took the picture rather than after .... note to self for next time!

Hoya blossom
I heard some where that these plants bloom every hundred years; if that is true, I'm in a world of trouble because this particular plant has blossomed at least 4 times in the last 10 years and that would put me at wll over 400 years old.  Conversely ... when compared to 400, 50 isn't that old at all !

Yucca seed pods ....
My personal opinion is that yuccas themselves are a pain in the neck and not beneficial to hay production / consumption.  However, it seems they do have uses -- their blooms are beautiful, seed pod textures and colors very intersting, dried leaves are great fire starters and there is documentation that their roots may be used for soap.

Ice melting ... Not to be confused with "paint drying"

Interesting task photographing ice melting. And while I haven't mastered the technique of getting everything in focus - I had fun trying to catch the water droplets as the left the icicle.
